CT LICENSE RESTORATION

Resolving a Suspension
Your suspension letter advises that to restore your license the fee is $125.00 Made payable to the Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles. So, follow the directions below and send the money to the address listed below.

There are no in-person transactions conducted at any office of the Department of Motor Vehicles for operator license restoration or suspension activity. All transactions must be conducted by mail. Suspension or restoration correspondence should be addressed to:

Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles
Driver Services Division
60 State Street
Wethersfield, CT 06161-2525

Suspension or restoration information is also available 24 hours a day, seven days a week by calling 860-263-5720.

Note: Operators are encouraged to submit their restoration correspondence two weeks prior to the restoration date to allow time for processing. You cannot operate a motor vehicle until you receive an official notice from the Department of Motor Vehicles informing you that your restoration has been processed.

Technically, you are still under suspension until you receive the restoration notice. So, send your money in sooner rather than later. However, if your license is restored because you won your dmv case you do not need to send in a restoration fee. With regard to your court case, your license is suspended upon conviction. Then, you must send in the restoration fee to have your license restored after a conviction, also.
